Happy Holidays and welcome to 2025.    I hope the holiday season affords you time to spend with family and friends.

Thank you to those who renewed their memberships and welcome those who may be new members to CADAT.  Whether a new member or a renewing member, you are appreciated!

Our board has worked diligently to meet the needs of our members.  The mid-year methodology meeting was a great success, and we look forward to offering another mid-year methodology course in 2025.  Thank you to those who participated and to Cara Miyasaki and her committee for coordinating a great meeting!

Legislative issues continue to be at the forefront with the passage of the Dental Boards Sunset bill SB 1453.   Communication with the Dental Assisting Council and the Dental Board is ongoing with recommendations on implementation of regulations related to SB 1453.   There are many changes that will take effect in 2025 and CADAT will keep you informed on what you need to know.  Meetings continue with our lobbyist, Cody Boyles, as we head into 2025.  And Melodi Randolph, CADAT past president and GR Chair continues to represent CADAT with integrity and vigor. 

Our annual conference registration will open soon.  We will be meeting April 25-26, 2025, at the Westin, South Coast Plaza, in Costa Mesa.  Get ready for 2 days of education, networking and fun.  A new RDA duty in 2025 will be placing orthodontic attachments.  Get your methodology for this skill on Friday, and a hands-on workshop for placing attachments on Saturday.  Other topics for the conference include Infection control, industry innovations, holistic periodontal treatment, dental assistants and ESL success, hands-on workshop with composite placement, AI diagnostics, a legislative update, and more.   Don’t miss out on this great opportunity for education, networking, and of course, visiting with our sponsors!

The CADAT awards are back for 2025 as we recognize those who are deserving for the investments and work done in and for the profession.   Additional information and details will be announced in January.  Awards recipients will be recognized at the 2025 annual conference. 

Your CADAT board and committees consist of educators with a variety of skills and talents.  As we approach our annual meeting, we will also be seeking others to join us.  This is a great way to share your skills, talents and passions.  Please consider joining our board.  Applications are available on our website under membership.
